For the Inspired Bride event, we strive to think outside of the box and come up with displays and interactive tools to truly inspire brides before their big day. You can mingle with StudioWed vendors, taste bites from our caterers,
sample cake, and see inspiration tables designed and executed by our vendors. Brides will have the chance to fill their own luxury swag bags in our celebrity style gifting suite. Make your wedding design inspiration board and design your own tablescape at our interactive stations.

This year's event will be held at the beautiful Biltmore Ballrooms!



Come play with Sashay in The Biltmore Hotel's Imperial Ballroom! We're transforming the entire space into our own Fall vision! And hey, there will be food...yummy delicious fooood! ;P

"Weddings Unveiled" Summer Issue Released

Thaaat's right, ladies! The Summer 2011 Issue of Weddings Unveiled magazine has dropped and oh boy is it gorgeous! We had a party here at our StudioWed office where we were able to take a first look at the new issue. First of all, their front page is stunning. If you flip toward the back of the magazine, you will find an 18-page spread of the season's loveliest dresses, photographed at the exquisite Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta.

Dresses were supplied by some of the hottest designers: Marchesa, Reem Acra, Naeem Khan, Douglas Hannant, and Elizabeth Filmore.

According to Creative Director Brooke Thomas, Weddings Unveiled is an inspiration magazine. Their purpose is to showcase creativity and foster creative ideas to help brides and grooms come up with the most amazing wedding possible.

A New Look at Farm

From the desk of Sashay's Lady in Waiting:

Everyone loves Farm Weddings. We've seen them featured in the hottest magazines, on blogs, and out on...well...farms. So, at the StudioWed Wedding Date Night at Rik Ducar and Sugarcoat last month in Virginia Highland, the Gals of Sashay decided to bring a new twist to the beloved Farm. Amish Farm! Our MANnequin posed in a lovely black and white houndstooth bow-tie while the WOMANnequin fashioned a short, cream, to-the-neck dress. The scene showcased an old timey pie table with rhubarb, cherry, and apple, of course! A crisp red barn construction and a window looking out to the picket fenced rolling hills was the final reminiscent touch. We do hope you'll look at these photos and get a few ideas of how to spin the ordinary into extraordinary!


Against the background of Pennsylvania farmland, this Bride and Groom state their intentions through vow within the antiqued and aged walls of the barn she played “cowgirl” in as a child.


And tomorrow, they will awaken together, wrapped in her Grandmother’s quilt, Husband and Wife.


Using the approached of “found objects”, the décor focuses on the natural beauty of the environment and design that blends and complements rather than transforms.


It’s also, just a little bit fun, and why shouldn’t it be?

Inspiration is as easy as 1, 2, 3...

Inspiration boards. You see them all the time in magazines and on blogs. But what if you want to make your own? Never fear, Sashay is here! Dun da da da...drum roll please... I've created a few simple steps to steer you in the right direction when creating your own inspiration story board!

#1 The sky is the limit
Have FUN! Your storyboard doesn't have to be realistic. Want the symbolic "good luck" of elephants in your wedding without all eight tons? Clip beautiful photos of them from National Geographic magazines. Incorporate their natural grey tone into your color palette or consider elephant-shaped escort cards. Go crazy! This is your day. If you've got a big idea, create an inspiration board to see if it flows. It's like an etch-a-sketch...you can always take things away and add new great ideas as they come along! :)

#2 Build your inspiration in 3-D
Have things hanging off, standing on, popping out of, and tied to your board. You don't have a flat boring dream, so why make your storyboard that way? Your storyboard is a great opportunity to compare shades, textures, and objects against each other. Get samples from invitations vendors, paint strips from a home improvement store, and faux flowers and ribbons from craft stores like JoAnn's and Michael's.

#3 Center importance
What is the most important part of your inspiration? In the pictures below, I placed the bride as most important, so I centered her and raised her image to the highest level. Is the wedding or birthday cake your favorite part? Put it in the middle and have everything else spiraling around it in order of importance. Your eye will settle on this focal point and organize everything else around it.

#4 Think outside the box
Instead of just putting pictures and colors on your board, why not place real objects on there? Love the texture and color of citrus fruits like pomegranates, clementines, and grapefruits? Let a few fruit peels dry out and pin them to your storyboard! Obsessed with farm weddings? Pick a few hay strands and paint a wood chip red to get that barn feel.
