Bringing Sexy Back!

Okay ladies. You have worked your rears off (literally) to get into those swimsuits in time for summer. Don't let all of that hard work be just for pool side play! Why not be a little daring this summer and take advantage of Risque's Summer Boudior Special. From June 18 - August 14, a 30 minute session is only $150. What an amazing gift for that special someone, or just for you and those "remember when" days.

Did you ever see these?

Here are some fantastic images from the Studio Wed sponsored "An Evening of Bridal Luxury". The event took place back in September, but I am just now seeing the images. I had to share them asap because THIS is the hardcore wedding that Sashay would be thrilled to work on! It is always fun to work with the Studio Wed team of vendors and make a concept like "rock-n-roll glamour" come to life.

What do you think?
Is this wedding in your future?

HUGE Success for Studio Wed!

Congrats to all the Studio Wed vendors for the incredibly successful "Something Old Something New" bridal event at The Ritz Carlton at Lake Oconee. Sashay was thrilled to be a part of such a fun and exciting event. Of course, we ate too much food and snacked on WAY too many sweets. It was all just so tasty.

We were proud of the entire event, but mostly of our wonderful showcase display, featuring Sashay Events, The Savage Garden, I Do Linens and Papered Wonders. Thanks to all of you, we really brew them away. Don;t take my word for it though, just check out these photos and see for yourself!

The Annual Fundraiser is upon us!

The Gals are busy busy busy working with Maggie's Giving Group (MGG) on their annual fund-raiser. In the past we have raised over $40,000 for local and international non-profits. This year, the MGG Fundraiser is proud to be raising money for SisterLove, a non-profit organization that is both local and International. SisterLove pours energy and funds into HIV education, prevention and human rights advocacy for women in our city as well as South Africa, where more people suffer and die from HIV/AIDS than any other country. Women account for nearly half of all new HIV infections every year, with few options for protection and limited access to healthcare and information that can save their lives. That is why, for more than 20 years SisterLove has work has helped women and their families cope with and conquer the effects of this pandemic.

The good folks at Endive Catering and Peachtree Tents and Events have joined in and our hope is that you will too. Join us this Thursday for an evening not soon to be forgotten with amazing music and international cuisine. Get involved with this very worthwhile event. Plus, you get to hang with the Gals of Sashay... thats not to bad either. :-) Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door BUY TICKETS NOW!

Ask the experts...

Recently, the Gals of Sashay were asked by Brides.com for some creative wedding favor ideas. We shared a few that we have recently had fun with as well as a few we would LOVE to do in the future. It is why you hire us after-all... to get the good ideas that give your guests that "WOW" you were aiming for. Here are some highlights and stay tuned for the ideas to be featured on Brides.com.

Sheila and Larry
With a brother as a glass artist, and a late November wedding, we absolutely had to go the route of hand-blown glass ornaments for these favors. But, why stop there? We not only gave these beauties as amazing favors, but also used them as the primary decor on each seated reception table. Just look how beautiful they turned out! Photo by Drew Newman.

Jennifer and Geoff
Looking for something incredibly Atlanta? Then look no further. The favors for this wedding were small bottles of coca-cola, hand delivered by the Bride herself. Super cute and festive. Photo by Marc Climie.

Kate and Matt
A Groom that puts ketchup on everything - FUNNY - we say go with it! Mini Ketchup bottles for all. Photo by Drew Newman.

Well, Well, Well

We are back in the saddle again my friends. We have been very busy with all of our terrific brides and grooms. Just this week, Picture This Photography Blog posted some pictures of one cool Sashay Events couple that had their wedding at the High Museum. One spectacular venue. This couple made us laugh the entire time we worked with them nicknaming us Franck and Howard Weinstein from "Father of the Bride". We loved it. I would like to think that's why people work with us, because we know how to have fun while planning amazing weddings and events. And...why shouldn't you have fun?

Congratulations to Sashay!!! Why? Well, we just had a new addition to the team and his name is Gadson Cobb. That's right folks. Ms. Katy Cobb, and her lovely husband of course, just had a beautiful little boy. The Sashay Team is very excited and Katy can not wait to introduce you all to the little man.

Go Cobbs!!!

Christa and Holden AGAIN!!!

Back in October, Atlanta Occasions Magazine blogged about our super cute, Indy-Rock Bride and Groom, Christa and Holden. Well, it turns out they loved our Bride and Groom so much, that they decided to re-publish the blog posting. Congrats to Christa and Holden AGAIN! This Bride and Groom had so much style and spunk that we don't mind looking at their wedding pics over...and over... and over again! We know you will too. Enjoy!

As the holidays creep in, we start to think about gifts. One of my favorite gifts to give are delectable sweet treats, and this year is no different. I have started the search for what candies & cookies to make this year for my friends and family. Would you like to share any of your favorite treats? Here are a few of mine.

1. Buckeyes
2. Dark Chocolate Cherry Truffles
3. Mint Chocolate Fudge
4. White Chocolate Cashew Drops covered in Milk Chocolate
5. Holiday Chocolate Bark with pistachio's and cranberries (My Mom's favorite)
6. Thin Mint Cookies
7. Carmel Pecan Bites
8. White Chocolate Chex Mix
9. Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels
10. Eggnog Snickerdoodles

I could go on...but I should stop myself. Which ones should I choose?

With one holiday down and two more to go, the Gals of Sashay are finding themselves very busy indeed. However, we did find some time over the Thanksgiving holiday to put on our "Betty Crocker" face and have some some fun in the kitchen. Here are a few tips we picked up after this years Thanksgiving weekend with our families.

1. Allow your family to only stay a week or less
2. Never start a home repair project over the holidays
3. Have family events planned for the holiday weekend
4. Start preparing food before Thanksgiving day to save you time and stress
5. Get family involved and have them prepare some of the Thanksgiving dishes
6. Go around the table and find out what everyone is thankful for
7. Eat a lot of food and save room for dessert (my favorite part to eat and make)
8. Find time to relax
9. Enjoy the leftovers
10. Wish your family safe travels home and get ready for Christmas

Anniversary Traditions

The 3rd Anniversary is here and I cannot believe it has been 3 years already. I guess it is true what they say… time flies when your having fun!

To keep the love and laughter a high priority, my husband and I have come up with our very own anniversary traditions. One of which included each of us donning our wedding day attire. Him in his suit – and “Oh, does he look good!” and me in my wedding dress… yes it still fits. Then we hit the town! Yes, we may get a few stares or whispers, but most people tend to recognize the same enjoyment and humor that we do. This year, we even had another couple secretly pay for our bottle of wine before we paid our server. They weren't looking for a “Thank You” or a pat on the back because they left before we had the chance to do so. They just did it to be thoughtful and kind. Don't you wish more people were like this? My husband and I were really touched and can’t wait for the opportunity to return the favor to someone else one day.

So, that’s a little snapshot into my anniversary traditions. Be sure to make your own and send us some stories.
