Sunshine Skyline

From the Desk of Sashay's Lady in Waiting...

Oh the weather outside is frightful, so here's something delightful!
We hope you like this week's bit of inspiration - "Sunshine Skyline"

Grey & yellow is a fun, youthful color scheme. Keep it up with a short reception dress and an equally fantastic venue. If you're in a big city, show it off with a rooftop bar or high level skyscraper with panoramic views of the city's skyline!

Until next time,

A New Look at Farm

From the desk of Sashay's Lady in Waiting:

Everyone loves Farm Weddings. We've seen them featured in the hottest magazines, on blogs, and out on...well...farms. So, at the StudioWed Wedding Date Night at Rik Ducar and Sugarcoat last month in Virginia Highland, the Gals of Sashay decided to bring a new twist to the beloved Farm. Amish Farm! Our MANnequin posed in a lovely black and white houndstooth bow-tie while the WOMANnequin fashioned a short, cream, to-the-neck dress. The scene showcased an old timey pie table with rhubarb, cherry, and apple, of course! A crisp red barn construction and a window looking out to the picket fenced rolling hills was the final reminiscent touch. We do hope you'll look at these photos and get a few ideas of how to spin the ordinary into extraordinary!

Against the background of Pennsylvania farmland, this Bride and Groom state their intentions through vow within the antiqued and aged walls of the barn she played “cowgirl” in as a child.

And tomorrow, they will awaken together, wrapped in her Grandmother’s quilt, Husband and Wife.

Using the approached of “found objects”, the décor focuses on the natural beauty of the environment and design that blends and complements rather than transforms.

It’s also, just a little bit fun, and why shouldn’t it be?

As Always,

The Lady Waits No More!

From the desk of Sashay's Lady in Waiting:

Colleen & Phil: Last seen leaving King Plow through a lit path of gleaming sparklers and into their awaiting chariot. Not only was this wedding memorable because of its beautifully executed unique flair, but also because it was my first wedding ever! (Well, on the planning side at least.)

From working with the very talented, very down-to-earth people at Bold American to using the artistic venue King Plow to our couple's advantage in creating an African-themed wedding that showed off their love of travel...

From our oh so hilarious usher's stand-up comedy...

To Colleen's TO DIE FOR something blue hair piece...

...I couldn't have asked for a better first wedding :) One of the greatest moments of all and something I will remember always was when I waited with Colleen just before she walked down the aisle to be wed. Being able to calm her nerves, assure her that she looked outrageously gorgeous, and give her some final words of encouragement was such an inexplicable experience and I'm so grateful to have been able to witness and participate in that moment.

Thank you so much and congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Sandick!!! You are both so young and alive and we at Sashay hope you have a fantastic honeymoon and an even more fantastic life together.

XOXO,
Marisa
